°a dialect subgroup of the Min Nan branch of the Chinese language which is mainly spoken in the south-eastern part of mainland China, Fujian, in Taiwan, by the Chinese minorities in Southeast Asia and by many overseas Chinese worldwide. This subgroup of Min Nan is also known as the Min Tai Division. It encompasses several major variants, which are generally mutually intelligible: Amoy Min (Amoy dialect), Quanzhou dialect, Zhangzhou dialect, and Taiwanese Minnan.
